Job Title

GPU Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for verification of GPU cores and Graphics IP to ensure correctness, performance, and power goals are met. Work spans pre- and post-silicon validation and collaboration with architecture, software, firmware, design, modeling, emulation and validation teams.

Focus areas include building verification environments, system-level test content, automation, and debug to support GPU IP delivery.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Posting indicates preferred 5+ years; minimums imply 2+ to 4+ years depending on degree level.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include verification implementation, test development, cross-team integration, and analysis:

  • Create and maintain verification testbenches and environments using SystemVerilog/UVM.
  • Develop test frameworks to reproduce real-world system integration scenarios.
  • Collect and execute system-level tests: directed tests, gaming benchmarks, standards compliance suites, and system scenarios.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Software, Firmware, Design, Modeling, Emulation and Post-silicon teams to define test methodology and content.
  • Participate in GPU architecture and micro-architecture reviews and align on feature scope.
  • Build CI and automation for continuous integration and testing of GPU IP.
  • Analyze test results, debug issues, and track benchmarks using straightforward statistics and data analysis.
  • Produce technical documentation and feature descriptions for assigned projects.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience:

  • Strong experience with SystemVerilog and UVM-based testbench development.
  • Experience with RTL languages (Verilog or VHDL) and C/C++ for test and tooling.
  • Verification skills: test planning, scripting, simulation, debug, constrained-random and functional coverage development.
  • Scripting and automation (Python, Make or similar) to build test flows and CI.
  • System-level verification experience including benchmarks and standards compliance testing.

Nice-to-have / preferred:

  • Exposure to emulation/prototyping platforms (Veloce, Palladium, Zebu, FPGA, Protium, HAPS, qemu).
  • GPU-specific verification experience and familiarity with GFX APIs (Vulkan, DirectX).
  • Embedded firmware/kernel-level development and debugging experience.
  • Familiarity with formal verification (FPV/DPV), performance analysis, and developing synthesizable transactors/monitors for emulation.

Education Requirements

Degree requirement options stated in the posting: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field plus 4+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree in the same fields plus 3+ years; OR PhD in the same fields plus 2+ years. Posting also references preferred Master's and mentions equivalent related work experience.
