Job Title

GPU Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Perform functional verification of graphics logic (3D graphics, media, display) to ensure designs meet specification and quality targets. Work within Intel's Data Center Group to develop verification plans, build scalable testbenches, run system simulations, and debug presilicon issues.

Collaborate with GPU architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams to close verification gaps and improve verification infrastructure and methodologies.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically 3–7 years. The posting indicates approximately 4+ years of hands-on IP verification experience is expected.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and execute scalable, reusable verification plans and testbenches.
  • Perform functional verification of GPU/graphics logic components and run system-level simulations.
  • Write coverage models and assertions; drive coverage closure.
  • Root cause and debug issues in presilicon environments and implement fixes.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL and physical design teams and lead technical reviews.
  • Maintain and enhance verification infrastructure, tools, and methodologies.

Requirements

Required skills and experience.

Must-have:
  • Proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog and UVM for pre-silicon verification.
  • Hands-on experience developing testbenches, writing coverage and assertions, and driving closure.
  • Experience debugging frontend design flows and presilicon verification environments.
  • Programming/scripting skills (Python, Perl, or Shell).
Nice-to-have:
  • Familiarity with GPU architecture and GPU verification processes.
  • Experience with coverage-driven verification methodologies and functional modeling.
  • Mentoring or leadership experience and strong analytical debugging skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering or a related STEM field; or a Master's or PhD in a relevant field. The posting also allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of a listed degree.
