Job Title

GPU Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Designs, implements and verifies GPU hardware and system-level functionality to meet correctness, performance, and power goals. Works with architecture, firmware, software, design, emulation and post-silicon teams to develop verification strategies and execute pre- and post-silicon validation.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Preferred ~1+ years of relevant hardware, software, or systems engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include verification of Graphics IP, creating test environments, and executing system-level tests to validate features and performance.

  • Architect, design, implement and verify GPU hardware, drivers, features, applications and tools.
  • Create and maintain verification testbenches and environments using SystemVerilog/UVM.
  • Develop testing frameworks to recreate real-world system integration conditions and run directed tests, benchmarks and standards compliance suites.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Software, Firmware, Design, Modeling, Emulation and Post-silicon teams to define test methodology and content.
  • Participate in GPU architecture and micro-architecture reviews and write technical documentation.
  • Build automation for continuous integration and testing of GPU IP; collect and analyze test results using basic statistics to track benchmarks and identify issues.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.

  • Verification skills: test planning, scripting, simulation, debugging and design debug experience.
  • Proficiency with SystemVerilog and UVM; experience with Verilog or VHDL and C/C++.
  • Constrained-random verification and functional coverage development experience.
  • Experience creating testbenches, transactors, monitors and scoreboards for simulation and emulation flows.
  • Familiarity with emulation/prototyping platforms (e.g. Veloce, Palladium, Zebu, FPGA) and related hybrid build/execution flows.

Nice-to-have

  • GPU-specific verification or system/sub-system level verification experience.
  • Experience with benchmarking, performance analysis, OS/kernel-level debugging, embedded firmware, and tooling/scripting (Python, Make, etc.).
  • Exposure to GFX APIs (Vulkan, DirectX), formal verification (FPV/DPV), and emulation/prototyping execution flows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field required. Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.
