GPU Architect - New College Grad 2026

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's GPU Architecture Group as a new college graduate to design and validate GPU profiling and performance telemetry features. Work within a cross-disciplinary team of architects, ASIC designers, performance engineers, drivers, and tools developers to deliver hardware modeling, test development, and supporting infrastructure.

This role focuses on hardware-software co-design for GPU performance and telemetry, with opportunity to influence future AI platform features.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” new college graduate. Intended for candidates who are recent graduates or graduating by summer 2026.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include

  • Build and maintain functional and performance models for GPU hardware features.
  • Write and execute test plans to validate designs across configurations.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure that supports the hardware development and validation process.
  • Collaborate with architects, ASIC designers, and software engineers across teams.
  • Analyze performance data and develop domain expertise in GPU architecture and performance analysis.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications

  • Foundation in computer architecture and AI workload acceleration.
  • Programming skills in C++ and Python.
  • Coursework or project experience in performance modeling, hardware simulation, or verification.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional engineering collaboration.

Preferred / nice-to-have

  • Experience with SystemC or other hardware modeling frameworks.
  • Research or project experience in GPU architecture or AI acceleration.
  • Hands-on experience with CUDA or other accelerated computing programming models.
  • Contributions to hardware or architecture projects (academic or open source).
  • Familiarity with profiling tools or performance analysis.

Education Requirements

Pursuing or recently completed an M.S. or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Role targets recent graduates or candidates graduating by summer 2026.
