Role Summary
Work on RTL design and implementation for an SoC and processor within a small engineering team at an early-stage startup. The role owns significant blocks of the design and collaborates closely with Architecture, Verification, and Physical Design.
Team has extensive experience across processor, I/O and SoC designs from leading semiconductor companies; the position involves hands-on RTL and integration work.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Specific years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include RTL development, microarchitecture implementation, and cross-team collaboration.
- Design and implement RTL for processor and SoC blocks.
- Develop micro-architecture, pipelining and implement timing- and area-aware RTL.
- Participate in timing closure, power optimization, and area trade-offs.
- Integrate IP blocks and implement glue logic between subsystems.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Verification, and Physical Design teams to deliver silicon-ready RTL.
- Own significant portions of the design within a small, cross-functional team.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and preferred additional experience.
- Must-have: Strong background in RTL design and micro-architecture, including pipelining, timing closure, power and area considerations.
- Must-have: Proven ability to deliver RTL that interfaces with verification and physical design flows.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with I/O, memory interfaces and common bus interfaces.
- Nice-to-have: Experience integrating third-party IP and developing glue logic.
