Job Title

FY27 Intern - Camera Design Implementation Intern - Canada (16 months)

Role Summary

Internship on Qualcomm's Spectra Camera IP team responsible for implementing camera cores for Snapdragon SoCs. The intern will support RTL integration through physical design, working with camera development and physical design teams to help deliver IP from RTL to tape-out.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. This is an early-career position intended for students currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program.

Responsibilities

Work with the Camera Design Implementation team to integrate and implement camera IP and improve implementation flows.

  • Execute RTL-to-GDSII flow including synthesis, static timing analysis (STA), physical design, and ECO generation/verification.
  • Deliver camera cores from RTL to netlist and support tape-out activities.
  • Perform RTL synthesis with physically aware tools and low-power synthesis for multiple corners.
  • Run STA and develop constraints at block and SoC level to close timing.
  • Perform formal verification and RTL-netlist / netlist-netlist checks.
  • Generate and verify ECOs for functional and timing fixes in collaboration with physical design teams.
  • Identify and propose flow and process improvements to improve quality of results (QoR).
  • Develop scripts and automation to support synthesis, STA, ECO, and verification workflows.

Requirements

Technical skills and experience expected for successful performance in the internship.

  • Understanding of ASIC design flow and challenges of deep sub-micron technologies.
  • Familiarity with RTL integration, synthesis flows, and static timing analysis.
  • Experience or coursework with formal verification and low-power design concepts.
  • Ability to generate and verify ECOs and debug timing/functional issues.
  • Strong scripting ability to automate flows and perform analysis/debug (e.g., Python, TCL, shell).
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Engineering Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, or a related field. This specific posting is for a 16-month internship and requires availability from May/June 2027 through August/September 2028, with an expected graduation date of November 2028 or later.
