FY27 Engineering Intern — 6-month internship, Cork

Role Summary

The SnapDragon Engineering team in Cork, Ireland is seeking interns across Digital, Analog and Embedded Software design and verification. Interns will contribute to IP development for Snapdragon SoCs and work with architecture, software, measurement and SoC teams on advanced FinFET silicon nodes.

Internships typically start as early as January 2027 and last six months; successful candidates will gain hands-on experience in ASIC/SoC design flows, verification, and prototyping.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Intended for students who have completed at least the second year of a Bachelor's degree; suitable for early-stage Master's students.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities for interns on these teams include:

  • Implement and debug RTL, firmware, or verification testbench code.
  • Develop and run simulations, synthesis flows, and verification tests.
  • Collaborate with architects, software, measurement and SoC teams to integrate and validate IP.
  • Perform FPGA prototyping and lab measurements as required.
  • Document results and present findings to engineering teams and mentors.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Design, coding and scripting experience: Verilog or VHDL; C/C++; Python; Tcl/Perl/shell scripting.
  • Verification methodology experience: SystemVerilog/OVM/UVM.
  • Project experience with FPGAs.
  • Familiarity with basic computer tools (Windows, Office, Visio) and a commitment to completing assigned tasks.
  • Nice-to-have: knowledge of low-power design, analog integrated circuits, wireless/wired communications and protocols, graphics/video multimedia, ARM processors, or security algorithms.

Education Requirements

Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field; applicants must have completed the second year of a Bachelor’s degree and ideally be in the second year of a Master’s. Relevant coursework includes circuits and electronics, signals and systems, microelectronic devices and circuits, semiconductor physics, digital integrated circuits, digital signal processing and low-power VLSI. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
