FY27 Camera Design Implementation Intern - Canada (16-month internship)
QualcommJob Title
FY27 Camera Design Implementation Intern - Canada (16-month internship)
Role Summary
Internship on Qualcomm's Spectra Camera team focused on implementation of Camera IP from RTL to physical signoff. The role supports RTL integration, synthesis, static timing analysis, ECO generation, and collaboration with physical design teams toward SoC tape-outs.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for students. Candidates should be available for a 16-month placement (May/June 2027 – August/September 2028) and able to commit full-time during that period.
Responsibilities
Work with the Camera design and physical-design teams to deliver implemented IP and improve implementation flows.
- Implement Camera cores from RTL through netlist to GDSII using synthesis and physical design flows.
- Run and interpret static timing analysis; develop and apply timing constraints at block and SoC levels.
- Perform RTL-netlist and netlist-netlist verification (formal/logic checks) and support low-power verification flows.
- Generate and verify ECOs for functional and timing fixes; coordinate fixes with physical design engineers.
- Develop and maintain scripts/automation to support synthesis, STA, ECO, and verification workflows.
- Identify and propose process and flow improvements to improve QoR (performance, power, area).
Requirements
Practical skills and experience expected for successful performance in the internship.
- Must have: Understanding of ASIC implementation flow (RTL integration through physical design), familiarity with synthesis and static timing analysis, and strong scripting ability to automate and analyze flows.
- Must have: Ability to work collaboratively with RTL designers and physical design teams and to support tape-out driven schedules.
- Nice to have: Exposure to formal verification, low-power synthesis flows, ECO generation/verification, and experience with industry-standard implementation/verification tools.
Education Requirements
Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program (undergraduate student) in Engineering Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, or a related field. Expected graduation November 2028 or later. Must be available for a 16-month internship period (May/June 2027 – August/September 2028).
