FY26 Intern - Engineering Internship (6 months) β€” Cork, Ireland

Role Summary

The Snapdragon Engineering team in Cork is seeking interns for Digital, Analog and Embedded Software Design & Verification teams. Interns will contribute to IP development for Snapdragon chipsets and work directly with architecture, software, measurement and SoC teams across Qualcomm.

Interns will gain hands-on experience with advanced FinFET silicon node toolflows and participate in design, verification, prototyping and validation activities. Internships may commence as early as January 2026.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Intended for students who have completed at least the second year of a Bachelor's degree; Master's students in their second year are preferred.

Responsibilities

Typical intern responsibilities include:

  • Implement and test RTL or software: work in Verilog/VHDL, C/C++ or Python as appropriate.
  • Develop and run verification using SystemVerilog/OVM/UVM testbenches.
  • Prototype and evaluate designs on FPGA platforms.
  • Assist with low-power, analog, connectivity, graphics or security IP tasks as assigned.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and validate features on SoC platforms.
  • Document work, analyze results, and present findings to mentors and team members.

Requirements

Core technical skills and personal attributes required:

  • Proficiency with one or more of: Verilog, VHDL, C/C++, Python, Tcl/Perl or shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with verification methodologies such as SystemVerilog, OVM or UVM.
  • Experience with FPGA projects or other hardware prototyping.
  • Basic knowledge in at least one area: low-power design, analog integrated circuits, wireless/wired communications protocols, graphics/video multimedia, ARM processors, or security algorithms.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills; reliable and task-oriented.
  • Good general computer skills (e.g., Windows, Office, Visio).

Education Requirements

Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program (typically Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering); relevant coursework includes circuits and electronics, signals and systems, microelectronic devices and circuits, semiconductor devices, feedback systems, digital integrated circuits, DSP, low-power VLSI and semiconductor physics. Applicants must have completed the second year of a Bachelor's degree; second-year Master's students are preferred. Applications from candidates with equivalent practical experience will be considered.
