Functional Verification Engineer, Staff
QualcommJob Title
Functional Verification Engineer, Staff
Role Summary
Staff-level functional verification engineer on the Graphics team, responsible for planning and executing functional verification of GPU blocks and related SoC integration. Role is available in Athens or Patra, Greece (onsite).
Work includes defining verification strategy, building verification environments and tests, running regressions, debugging failures, and collaborating with design and architecture teams to close verification gaps.
Experience Level
Senior / Staff level. Typical experience: 5+ years in ASIC design verification; equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
Responsibilities
Deliver functional verification for GPU/SoC features and lead verification activities for assigned domains.
- Collaborate with GPU design and architecture teams to translate requirements into verification plans.
- Create detailed test and coverage plans and develop verification methodology for scalability and portability.
- Design and implement verification environments: stimulus, checkers, assertions, trackers, and coverage.
- Develop UVM tests, testbenches and constrained-random scenarios for functional verification.
- Bring up DV environments and regressions; execute verification and debug failures.
- Track and report DV progress using metrics (bugs, coverage) and manage regressions.
- Analyze and debug new GPU features and improve verification methodologies.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- ASIC design verification experience (typical 5+ years).
- Verification skills: test planning, simulation, problem solving and RTL/debug analysis.
- Proficient in SystemVerilog and UVM; experience with Verilog or VHDL.
- Scripting (Perl, Python) and C/C++ proficiency.
- Experience with constrained-random verification and functional coverage development.
Nice-to-have:
- RTL design experience or strong SoC architecture background.
- Experience with GPU architectures and associated verification methodologies.
- Experience with version control systems (Perforce, ClearCase, Git) and issue trackers (JIRA).
- HW–SW co-verification, system-level simulation, and formal verification experience.
Education Requirements
Minimum qualifications list a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Science, Engineering, or a related field with experience thresholds: Bachelor's +6 years, Master's +5 years, or PhD +4 years of ASIC design/verification/validation/integration experience. The posting accepts equivalent practical experience in lieu of a listed degree.
