Functional Verification Engineer, Senior - Athens or Patra, Greece

Role Summary

Senior functional verification engineer on the ASIC/GPU verification team responsible for developing verification plans, writing and running tests, closing coverage, and debugging RTL and integration issues. Works with design, systems, and firmware teams to verify IP and subsystem-level functionality.

Team focus: deploy industry-standard verification methodologies (SV/UVM), automate workflows, and support integration and power-aware simulations.

Experience Level

Senior. Typical experience: 6+ years (Bachelor's + 6 years), 5+ years with Master's, or 4+ years with PhD; equivalent industry experience considered.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities and supporting integration:

  • Develop test plans from design documents and coordinate with design/systems engineers.
  • Write, debug, and maintain verification tests and regression frameworks.
  • Analyze coverage data and drive coverage closure with design teams.
  • Run and debug power-aware simulations and regression failures.
  • Support firmware/emulation/FPGA-based verification and integration-level testing.
  • Automate workflows and regression runs using Python/Perl or similar scripting.
  • Participate in project and design reviews; provide guidance to junior team members.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and domain experience:

  • Strong expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification methodologies.
  • Experience with assertions (SVA) and assertion-based verification.
  • Proven coverage-closure practice and RTL debug skills.
  • Familiarity with firmware-driven, emulation, or FPGA-based verification flows.
  • Experience with Verilog or VHDL and scripting for automation (Python, Perl, or similar).
  • Ability to debug integration-level test vectors and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Design knowledge of CPU, GPU, interconnect/bus/NoC, memory controllers, caches, or protocols such as AHB/AXI.

Education Requirements

Degree requirement: Bachelor's in Science, Engineering, or related field with 6+ years' relevant ASIC/verification experience; OR Master's in Science, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years' experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years' experience. Applications with equivalent practical experience will be considered.
