Functional Test Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Test Engineering team supporting manufacturing in Guadalajara to design, implement, and maintain cost-effective test methods, fixtures, and software for electronic products. The role focuses on production and NPI test implementation, test system integration, diagnostics, and improving test yield and reliability.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing and operating functional and environmental test systems, troubleshooting failures, and supporting production integration.
- Design, develop and support functional test hardware, fixtures, interfaces, and automated test equipment (ATE).
- Develop and modify test programs and instrument drivers (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, Perl).
- Define test conditions, sequences, procedures and prepare technical test reports.
- Perform equipment verification, integration, calibration, and data acquisition setup for production.
- Conduct diagnostic testing, PCB-level troubleshooting, failure analysis and root-cause investigations.
- Create and maintain process documentation, test plans and quotations for test hardware/software.
- Support NPI and production test implementation and monitor test yield; drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Train and mentor test technicians, operators, and floor support personnel on test hardware/software and troubleshooting techniques.
- Coordinate third-party or supplier development and enhancements for test fixtures and systems.

Must-have:
- Proven experience in electronics test engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of functional, environmental, and diagnostic testing and test system integration.
- Experience with ATE, test fixtures, interfaces and instrument drivers.
- Proficiency programming for test automation and data acquisition (Python, LabVIEW, Perl, or similar).
- Experience developing test plans, procedures and process documentation.
- Familiarity with instrumentation, calibration and data acquisition systems.
- Experience performing root cause analysis, failure analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- PCB/board-level electronic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience supporting NPI and production test implementation; knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and statistical methods.
- Strong communication, project management and cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to train others. Advanced English proficiency (written/verbal).
Nice-to-have:
- Experience coordinating external suppliers for test development projects.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is specified.
