Job Title

Front-End Integration Engineer

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's NIC Silicon team within the Networking business unit to build and maintain front-end integration and CI infrastructure for next-generation network adapter silicon. The role focuses on automating EDA flows, maintaining Perforce-based hardware build streams, and ensuring reliable daily and nightly front-end builds.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early-career β€” 2+ years of hands-on industry experience in ASIC/SoC front-end integration, CAD, or EDA flow automation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include operating and improving front-end build pipelines and supporting RTL/verification teams.

  • Own and maintain Continuous Integration pipelines for front-end build areas (lint, synthesis, equivalence checking, simulation).
  • Automate EDA flows using Python, Tcl, and Shell to integrate Synopsys/Cadence tools into automated pipelines.
  • Manage Perforce streams, workspace specs, changelists, and labels for multi-IP branches and hardware build drops.
  • Act as primary contact for engineers to debug flow crashes, bottlenecks, environment issues, and CI failures.
  • Enforce quality gates with automated pre-checks, linting, and style enforcement before commits to main streams.
  • Monitor and optimize compute farm (LSF) and storage usage to reduce pipeline runtime and improve execution efficiency.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 2+ years practical industry experience in ASIC/SoC front-end integration, CAD, or EDA flow automation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Perforce (P4 / Helix Core): streams, workspace specs, changelists, and labels.
  • Proficiency in scripting: Python, Tcl, and Bash/Shell for automation and flow development.
  • Practical experience with front-end EDA tools (examples: SpyGlass, Build Compiler, Xcelium).
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to resolve build and flow issues under deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate with RTL and verification teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience writing Perforce automation (Python scripts) or pre-submit/post-submit triggers to enforce check-in policies.
  • Experience building regression reporting, dashboarding, or automated notifications (Slack/Teams) for pipeline health.
  • Verification experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
