FPGA Verification Engineer II
Role Summary
Member of the FPGA Business Unit in Dublin responsible for verification of next-generation secure, low-power FPGA devices. Work across verification, emulation, and prototyping teams to achieve first-silicon success.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The role requires at least 2 years of functional verification experience of complex SoC designs.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design and execution of verification strategies and maintaining reusable verification environments.
- Plan and perform functional verification of complex subsystems and SoCs using constrained-random, formal, and C-based methods.
- Develop and maintain reusable UVM-based testbenches and verification environments.
- Execute RTL and power-aware verification flows.
- Apply AI/ML-enabled verification techniques to improve quality and productivity.
- Collaborate with emulation, hardware prototyping, architecture, and design teams.
- Debug functional issues and support root-cause analysis to achieve first-silicon success.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, tools, and experience.
- 2+ years in functional verification of complex SoC designs.
- Proficient in SystemVerilog, UVM, and formal verification methodologies.
- Good understanding of SoC architectures such as ARM and RISC-V.
- Domain expertise in CPU subsystems and AMBA bus systems.
- Scripting and software skills: Perl, Python, TCL/TK, and C/C++ for automation and validation.
- Familiarity with Siemens/Cadence/Synopsys verification tool suites.
- Experience with revision control systems (Git, Perforce, svn) and strong debug skills.
- Proven ability to work with global, cross-functional teams; strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with coverage-driven verification using ML-based optimizations.
- Exposure to complete SoC RTL verification flows.
Education Requirements
Degree or Master's in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
