Job Title

FPGA Verification Engineer II

Role Summary

Responsible for verification of next-generation secure, low-power FPGA SoC subsystems and peripherals on the FPGA Business Unit team in Dublin, Ireland.

Work focuses on creating reusable UVM testbenches, RTL and power-aware verification, and collaboration with architecture, emulation, and prototyping teams to enable first-silicon success.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” requires a minimum of 2 years of functional verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain reusable UVM-based testbenches and verification environments.
  • Perform functional, power-aware, and formal verification of complex SoC subsystems.
  • Apply constrained-random, formal, and C-based verification methodologies.
  • Integrate AI/ML-enabled techniques to improve coverage and verification productivity.
  • Collaborate with emulation, hardware prototyping, architecture and design teams.
  • Debug verification failures and contribute to first-silicon bring-up.

Requirements

Required skills and experience:

  • 2+ years in functional verification of complex SoC designs.
  • Strong SystemVerilog, UVM, and formal verification experience.
  • Good understanding of SoC architectures (ARM or RISC-V); experience with CPU subsystems and AMBA bus systems.
  • Scripting and software: Perl, Python, Tcl/Tk, and C/C++ for automation and validation.
  • Familiarity with verification toolchains from Siemens, Cadence, or Synopsys.
  • Experience with revision control systems (Git, Perforce, SVN) and strong debug skills.
  • Proven ability to work with global cross-functional teams; strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Nice-to-have: experience with ML-based coverage optimizations and end-to-end SoC RTL verification.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
