FPGA Verification Engineer (Entry Level)
Role Summary
Entry-level verification engineer responsible for verifying embedded FPGA systems used in aerospace and defense applications. Work focuses on test development, simulation, integration, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) to demonstrate compliance with aerospace certification objectives.
You'll collaborate with engineers and project leads to produce verifiable artifacts and maintain traceability to device-level requirements for DO-254 / AC 20-152A projects supporting aerospace customers.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career. Suitable for recent graduates or engineers with limited professional FPGA verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include:
- Develop and execute verification test cases for embedded FPGA systems, including simulation and hardware test benches.
- Perform artifact reviews and maintain verification documentation and traceability to requirements.
- Execute integration tests and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) validation where applicable.
- Identify, isolate, and analyze verification findings; produce clear technical reports.
- Coordinate with team members and project leadership on schedules, status, and quality objectives.
- Adapt to new tools and techniques; support continuous learning and process improvement.
Requirements

- Must-have: Proficiency with hardware description languages (VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog).
- Must-have: Experience or coursework in FPGA verification and testing strategies; familiarity with simulation and HIL concepts.
- Must-have: Proficiency in Python and other scripting for test automation.
- Must-have: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigation skills; clear written and verbal communication.
- Must-have: U.S. citizenship is required; disclose dual citizenship if applicable.
- Must-have: Willingness to travel up to two weeks per year.
- Nice-to-have: Prior exposure to real-time embedded systems, integration testing, or aerospace certification processes.
- Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with DO-254 / AC 20-152A compliance artifacts and traceability practices.
Education Requirements
