FPGA Verification Engineer
Role Summary
The FPGA Verification Engineer will design and execute verification for FPGA/RTL used in imaging products. You will work on an interdisciplinary imaging team to define verification plans, develop testbenches, run lab and simulation validation, and mature prototypes toward product release.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 8+ years of professional experience in HDL development and FPGA/ASIC verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing verification infrastructure and validating RTL for FPGA designs.
- Architect and implement verification environments using SystemVerilog and/or UVM/OVM.
- Create written test plans, test cases, code coverage tracking, and functional coverage metrics.
- Develop testbenches for RTL verification using VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog.
- Apply constrained-random testing, functional coverage analysis, and assertion-based verification.
- Recommend tools and practices to improve ASIC/FPGA verification flow and CI processes.
- Break down verification tasks, plan activities, provide technical leadership, and report status to project teams.
- Contribute to engineering estimates for new program pursuits and support prototype lab testing and debugging.
Requirements

- 8+ years developing HDL firmware for FPGA devices.
- Proven experience developing and simulating RTL using VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and execute verification testbenches for RTL using VHDL and/or SystemVerilog.
- Applied experience with chip-level verification methodologies: constrained-random testing, functional coverage, and assertion-based verification.
- Experience using revision control systems such as Git or Subversion.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- Nice-to-have: experience with ASIC/FPGA lab validation and debug, DFT and production test concepts; proficiency with Unix/Linux and scripting or software development (C, C++, Python, Perl, or shell); familiarity with QuestaSim, Synplify, Quartus, or Vivado.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is typically required.
