Job Title

FPGA Verification Engineer, Bespoke Solutions

Role Summary

Architect, develop, and execute verification strategies and testbenches for FPGA and ASIC designs that support AWS networking and connectivity solutions. Work on cross-functional hardware and software teams to validate programmable logic and custom hardware before deployment to hardware targets.

Focus on scalable, coverage-driven verification for high-speed designs (100G+), including simulation and FPGA-in-the-loop validation.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical guidance from the posting: 3+ years design/architecture experience and 4+ years professional verification experience; 2+ years verifying FPGA or ASIC digital logic.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches and verification environments for RTL and third-party IP integrations.
  • Create and execute verification plans with functional coverage models, assertions, and constrained-random stimulus.
  • Develop bus functional models, scoreboards, and protocol checkers for complex interfaces.
  • Debug simulation failures, analyze waveforms, and drive issues to root-cause resolution.
  • Support FPGA-in-the-loop and hardware validation by developing test sequences and diagnostic utilities.
  • Collaborate with RTL designers to review specifications, identify risks, and ensure functional and performance requirements are met.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications (education summarized separately below):

  • Must-have: 4+ years of professional verification experience using SystemVerilog and/or UVM.
  • Must-have: 2+ years of experience verifying digital logic designs (FPGA or ASIC).
  • Must-have: 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, scaling).
  • Must-have: Must be a U.S. citizen and currently possess an active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility; must obtain and maintain TS/SCI with polygraph or commensurate clearance as required for the role.
  • Nice-to-have: 5+ years of verification experience including UVM testbench development, constrained-random verification, and functional coverage closure.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience verifying high-speed networking designs (100G+).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Xilinx/AMD Vivado, Synopsys VCS, Cadence Xcelium; assertion-based verification (SVA); familiarity with FPGA verification flows including FPGA-in-the-loop testing.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in the same or a related field.
