Job Title

FPGA Systems Development Engineer

Role Summary

Entry-level FPGA Systems Development Engineer supporting the Aerospace, Defense and Communication (ADEF & COM) business. Develop and deploy FPGA and SoC firmware and subsystems to enable customer evaluation, laboratory testing and demonstrations of ultra-wideband and wideband products.

Experience Level

Entry-level (0–3 years). Suitable for recent graduates and early-career engineers.

Responsibilities

Work on FPGA/SoC design, verification and system evaluation across hardware and software domains.

  • Design and implement SoC/FPGA logic using HDL, IP cores and embedded software
  • Constrain FPGA designs and perform timing analysis
  • Develop and run design verification using behavioral models
  • Troubleshoot and resolve FPGA design and hardware issues in the lab and on ATE
  • Participate in design reviews, create documentation, present results and produce demonstrations
  • Collaborate closely with digital design, product/test and applications/marketing engineers

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Hands-on experience with FPGA and/or SoC programming and firmware
  • Experience with RTL/HDL development and FPGA tool flows
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills, organization and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and distributed teams

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Intel/Altera or AMD/Xilinx devices, gigabit transceivers and high-speed memory
  • Familiarity with C/C++, Python and TCL for embedded/software integration
  • Experience with high-speed signaling and general electronics design

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related technical field (posting specifies degree in electrical and/or computer engineering).
