Job Title
FPGA Silicon Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Lead post-silicon bring-up and validation of high-speed analog I/O and PHY designs for DDR, LPDDR and MIPI interfaces. Work across silicon, package, board, firmware and software domains to characterize electrical behavior, debug issues, and drive design improvements.
Experience Level
Mid-level. No explicit years-of-experience stated in the posting.
Responsibilities
Deliver end-to-end validation and debug for high-speed I/O and PHYs and enable scalable FPGA-based test solutions.
- Own bring-up, electrical characterization and validation for high-speed I/O and PHY across silicon programs.
- Develop scalable validation frameworks and custom FPGA test content.
- Execute post-silicon debug and drive cross-functional issue resolution with circuit, board and firmware teams.
- Advise board design on channel implementation, stack-up, routing and I/O termination.
- Collaborate with firmware teams on test algorithms and calibration flow validation.
- Provide silicon-driven feedback to circuit design teams to improve architectures and implementations.
Requirements
Key technical skills and hands-on experience required for the role.
-
Must-have: Hands-on expertise validating high-speed interfaces and PHYs (DDR, LPDDR, MIPI).
-
Must-have: Strong understanding of high-speed signal integrity, power integrity, timing, analog/mixed-signal behavior and electrical measurement methods.
-
Must-have: Proficiency with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, BERTs, protocol analyzers, logic analyzers and pattern generators.
-
Must-have: Experience in post-silicon debug across silicon, package, board, firmware and software domains.
-
Must-have: Scripting or programming skills for validation automation and data analysis; experience using Quartus for FPGA validation enablement and debug.
-
Nice-to-have: Prior influence on board/layout decisions related to high-speed channels and I/O termination.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline (as stated in the posting).
