FPGA Silicon Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design RTL and simulate FPGA logic to produce cell libraries, functional units, IP blocks, and subsystems for integration into full-chip designs. Work with architecture, verification, and physical implementation teams to meet power, performance, and area targets.
Experience Level
Senior β 8+ years of relevant RTL and FPGA/ASIC design experience.
Responsibilities
The engineer will design, implement, and verify RTL and support device bring-up and integration.
- Develop RTL (Verilog/VHDL) for blocks, IP, and subsystems; create logic diagrams and coding to meet design specs.
- Perform simulations and prototype models to validate functionality, timing, and power.
- Participate in architecture and microarchitecture definition for assigned blocks.
- Apply RTL implementation techniques and collaborate with physical implementation to meet PPA goals.
- Prepare and review verification plans; debug failing RTL tests and implement fixes.
- Deliver software models and support device-level bring-up and user-visible features.
- Collaborate across teams and document design decisions and trade-offs.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 8+ years of RTL design experience using Verilog and VHDL.
- Experience with FPGA, custom IC, or ASIC design across architecture, design, and validation.
- Familiarity with logic simulation and design verification methodologies.
- Experience collaborating with physical implementation teams to meet timing, power, and area targets.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication skills, and ability to work in teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of Ethernet, ANLT, or NIOS.
- Familiarity with Python, Perl, TCL, and shell scripting.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent; or equivalent practical experience.
