FPGA Silicon Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design RTL for FPGA silicon: develop logic, RTL code and simulations to create cell libraries, IP blocks and subsystems for integration into full-chip designs. Work with architecture, physical implementation, and verification teams to deliver functional, timing- and power-validated silicon.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Develop RTL (Verilog, VHDL) for cell libraries, functional units, IP blocks and subsystems.
• Create prototypes and simulation models; deliver software models for device bring-up covering functionality, timing, and power.
• Participate in block architecture and microarchitecture definition.
• Prepare logic diagrams, system design and test specifications.
• Apply RTL implementation techniques to meet power, performance and area targets; collaborate with physical implementation teams.
• Review verification plans, debug failing RTL tests and implement corrective measures.
• Collaborate across teams and support release-quality silicon delivery.

• Must-have: 15+ years of RTL design experience using Verilog and VHDL.
• Must-have: Proven experience in FPGA, custom IC or ASIC design and verification across architecture, design, validation or product development.
• Must-have: Familiarity with logic simulation and design verification methodologies.
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of Ethernet/ANLT and NIOS.
• Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (Python, Perl, TCL, shell).
• Other: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, self-motivation and ability to work in a team.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
