Job Title

FPGA Post-Silicon Validation Engineer - Security

Role Summary

Lead device- and IP-level post-silicon validation focused on FPGA security features (secure boot, root-of-trust, key management) for next-generation FPGA and SoC devices. Work hands-on with silicon bring-up, system-level debug, and validation infrastructure while collaborating with architecture, design, firmware, and platform teams.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 8+ years of hands-on silicon validation experience focused on FPGA configuration, security, SoC, or embedded processor subsystems.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing validation activities to ensure security, reliability, and interoperability of FPGA and SoC products.

  • Develop validation strategies aligned to device architecture and security requirements.
  • Validate security features: secure boot, authentication, encryption, key management, lifecycle states, and threat mitigation.
  • Create and run test cases for configuration robustness, fault injection, negative testing, and security corner cases.
  • Perform device and system bring-up, debug boot hangs and security violations, and triage silicon issues across revisions.
  • Test on evaluation boards, reference platforms, and customer-like systems to verify interoperability and real-world scenarios.
  • Improve validation methodologies, automation, and test infrastructure to increase coverage and scalability.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and board teams to enhance observability and debug capability on evaluation platforms.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience to perform the role effectively.

  • 8+ years of hands-on silicon validation experience with strong focus on FPGA configuration, security, SoC, or embedded processor subsystems.
  • Deep knowledge of hardware security concepts (secure boot, authentication, encryption, key storage, lifecycle states, threat modeling).
  • Proven system-level validation and debug experience (power-on bring-up, failure analysis, silicon issue triage).
  • Experience with evaluation boards, reference platforms, and system interoperability testing.
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Python) for test infrastructure; Verilog familiarity is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work across architecture, design, firmware, and platform teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
