Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and review firmware requirements and design data following PLD/DO-254 processes.
  • Design, implement, test, debug, and review source code for PLD/FPGA firmware.
  • Create and execute simulation analyses and physical bench tests; integrate firmware with hardware systems.
  • Investigate complex problem reports and provide input to product/system requirements.
  • Recommend improvements to firmware development processes and company products; support ROM estimates for proposals when needed.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Occasional travel as required.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and skills based on the role description:

  • Practical experience with PLD/FPGA firmware development and verification using DO-254 or comparable safety-critical processes.
