FPGA IP Software Engineering Manager
Role Summary
Lead a team that architects and implements FPGA IP for wireless interfaces (for example O-RAN, eCPRI, CPRI) and ensures those IPs meet system, performance, and customer requirements.
The role combines technical leadership, customer-facing technical discussions, and people management to deliver FPGA software IP for 5G and next-generation terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on IP architecture, delivery, team leadership, and customer engagement.
- Architect FPGA IP such as O-RAN, eCPRI and CPRI soft IPs.
- Collaborate with Wireless System Solutions to define IP architecture for 5G and next-generation terrestrial and non-terrestrial deployments.
- Lead technical discussions with industrial customers and partners; represent IP technical direction.
- Manage and direct FPGA IP software development, validation engineers, and architects responsible for design, development, validation, and debugging of FPGA software IP.
- Set clear goals, remove blockers, maintain accountability, and apply performance management to drive team results.
- Develop and coach team members to improve skills and delivery capability.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role.
- Must-have: 7+ years of relevant experience in FPGA/ASIC IP or related development.
- Must-have: Strong knowledge of O-RAN and eCPRI standards.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with hardware design, highly optimized RTL development, IP-level simulation, and hardware validation.
- Must-have: Proficiency with FPGA development and verification tools such as Quartus, Platform Designer, and Questa Sim or VCS.
- Must-have: Proven experience with timing closure, clock-domain crossing (CDC), reset architecture, and standard interfaces (Avalon-ST, AXI).
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of wireless system architecture and 3GPP 4G/5G standards.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (as stated). The posting specifies degree plus 7+ years of relevant experience.
