Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for this role include firmware and FPGA design, tool development, and supporting system integration and validation.
- Design and implement FPGA firmware for custom emulation and infrastructure hardware.
- Develop RTL/SystemVerilog and validate designs on target FPGA platforms.
- Create and maintain tools, scripts, and flows to support FPGA development and integration.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and verification teams to integrate FPGA solutions into larger systems.
- Debug hardware/firmware issues, perform timing closure, and optimize designs for performance and reliability.
- Deliver customer-facing applications and documentation as required.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience.
- Practical FPGA design or FPGA firmware experience.
- Proficient in RTL/HDL development and SystemVerilog.
- Hands-on experience with Xilinx (UltraScale, UltraScale+, MPSoC) and/or Intel (Stratix) FPGA families and vendor toolchains.
- Ability to work independently and strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
Preferred / nice-to-have:
- Experience with clock domain crossing, high-speed design, and timing closure techniques.
- Exposure to VLSI/logic design concepts.
- Experience with C++ (x86, aarch64) and Python.
- Experience with Linux / Embedded Linux and knowledge of Linux device drivers and ARM-based designs.
- Familiarity implementing protocols such as AXI, PCIe, I2C, LVDS, and Ethernet.
- Experience with Agile practices, Git, and JIRA.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Master's or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
