Job Title

FPGA Engineer: ISP

Role Summary

Design, implement, verify, and optimize FPGA-based ISP and domain control functions for an automotive-grade autonomous vehicle platform. The role sits on the compute platform team and focuses on production-quality RTL, system integration, and on-board debugging.

Work emphasizes performance, power, area, and timing optimization for SoC/FPGA platforms used in Tensor's Robocar systems.

Experience Level

Mid-level. No specific years listed; suitable for engineers with substantial hands-on FPGA design and integration experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to solution and architecture design for domain control FPGA subsystems.
  • Develop system- and module-level RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog), and perform simulation and verification.
  • Perform on-board bring-up and debugging of FPGA designs.
  • Optimize FPGA implementations for performance, power, area, and timing.
  • Integrate FPGA firmware with software and hardware systems and resolve development issues.
  • Use vendor toolchains (AMD, Lattice) and work with Zynq or equivalent platforms.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Proficient in Verilog/SystemVerilog for RTL design.
  • Extensive FPGA design and development experience, including optimization for performance, power, and area.
  • Experience with FPGA development environments and tools from AMD or Lattice; familiarity with Zynq-series or equivalent SoC-FPGA platforms.
  • Familiarity with the AXI bus protocol.
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces such as MIPI, PCIe, and DDR.
  • Familiarity with common peripheral interfaces: I2C, SPI, UART.
  • Ability to perform simulation, verification, on-board debugging, and timing/resource optimization.

Nice-to-have:

  • ISP processing experience.

Education Requirements
