Job Title

FPGA Engineer, Intelligence Systems

Role Summary

Join Anduril's Intelligence Systems (AIS) team in Reston, VA to design, develop, test, and deploy FPGA-based capabilities for Intelligence Community customers. The role focuses on implementing high-performance FPGA and SoC designs (Xilinx), supporting hardware bring-up, and delivering traceable solutions that meet system requirements.

Experience Level

Mid-level; 5+ years of FPGA/HDL hardware design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

The engineer will take designs from requirements through implementation and hands-on testing.

  • Develop, simulate, and implement FPGA designs using VHDL/Verilog on Xilinx SoC/FPGA platforms.
  • Integrate third-party vendor IP as needed and validate integration at HDL and system level.
  • Participate in the full design lifecycle: requirements, architecture, implementation, board bring-up, and verification.
  • Implement and verify interfaces and signal types including high-speed communications (Ethernet, serial) and signal-processing blocks (analog/digital).
  • Perform SoC hardware bring-up, including ARM-based system integration and low-level testing.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware and HDL-level bugs discovered during bring-up and system testing.
  • Ensure designs meet safety and performance standards with traceability to top-level requirements.

Requirements

Core qualifications and clearances required or strongly preferred.

Must-have:

  • 5+ years of FPGA/HDL hardware design experience (preferred).
  • Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog and experience with simulation tools.
  • Experience with Xilinx SoC/FPGA platforms and familiarity with Vivado, ModelSim, or Quartus.
  • Hands-on experience with SoC hardware bring-up, preferably on ARM-based systems.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience designing for safety-critical functions.
  • Knowledge of FPGA interfaces and high-speed busses.
  • Experience with systems on chip (SoC) and low-level firmware (C/C++) for bring-up and test.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
