FPGA Engineer - Hod HaSharon
Role Summary
Join the hardware development team to design, implement, verify and debug FPGA-based solutions for advanced digital systems within the Modem Technologies engineering group. Work with architects, ASIC/SoC designers, firmware and verification teams to deliver high-performance products from prototype to deployment.
Experience Level
Entry-level β up to 3 years of relevant FPGA or digital design experience.
Responsibilities
Contribute to FPGA development across design, verification and bring-up phases.
- Design and implement FPGA logic using Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Develop and maintain FPGA subsystems, IP blocks, and reference designs.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews with cross-functional teams.
- Perform RTL simulation, debugging, and functional verification.
- Support synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, and implementation flows.
- Create and execute test plans for FPGA validation and board bring-up.
- Debug hardware and system-level issues in laboratory and prototype environments.
- Integrate common interfaces (e.g., JTAG, AHB, DDR) and verify connectivity.
- Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware teams during product development.
- Document designs, verification results, and development procedures.
Requirements
Core technical skills and practical FPGA development experience are required; preferred skills listed separately.
Must-have:
- Up to 3 years of FPGA or digital design experience.
- Proficient in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Experience with RTL simulation and debugging (ModelSim/Questa or equivalent).
- Familiarity with FPGA toolchains (AMD/Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus) and implementation flows.
- Understanding of synchronous design principles, timing analysis, and timing closure.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with FPGA prototyping or board bring-up.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Tcl, Bash).
- Knowledge of FPGA verification methodologies and embedded/processor-based FPGA platforms.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or ClearCase.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's (B.Sc.) or Master's (M.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
