FPGA Engineer - CXL / PCIe

Role Summary

Design and implement FPGA logic and verification for CXL and PCIe protocol solutions. Work within an engineering team to deliver RTL, perform integration and platform bring-up, and support product validation and qualification.

Experience Level

Mid-level - approximately 3+ years of relevant FPGA and protocol experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for this role include:

• Design and implement FPGA logic for CXL and PCIe Gen6/Gen7 protocol solutions.
• Translate protocol and product requirements into RTL design and implementation.
• Develop and maintain RTL using Verilog and/or VHDL; perform functional simulation and synthesis.
• Perform timing analysis, implementation, and FPGA bring-up and debug on target hardware.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams for system integration and platform validation.
• Debug protocol, hardware, FPGA, and system-level issues; participate in product qualification and performance optimization.
• Contribute to reusable FPGA components, verification practices, and documentation.
• Use AI/ML and AI-assisted engineering tools to increase productivity in RTL development, verification, debugging, and automation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• 3+ years of FPGA development experience working with high-speed protocols (CXL, PCIe).
• Proven RTL design experience in Verilog and/or VHDL.
• Experience with Intel/Altera and/or AMD/Xilinx FPGA tools and implementation flows.
• Hands-on experience with simulation, synthesis, implementation, timing analysis, and FPGA debug.
• Experience debugging protocol-level and system integration issues with hardware and software teams.
• Experience in validation, performance optimization, and product qualification.
• Familiarity with verification practices and building reusable FPGA components.
• Willingness to use AI/ML engineering tools to improve workflows and automation.
