FPGA Engineer

Role Summary

Design and implement FPGA-based products. Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to develop VHDL RTL, perform synthesis and implementation with Xilinx Vivado, and support project tracking and configuration control.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically 3–5+ years of FPGA design experience.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain VHDL RTL for FPGA designs.
• Implement, synthesize, and place-and-route designs using Xilinx Vivado.
• Integrate FPGA logic with system firmware and hardware interfaces.
• Use revision control systems to manage code, branches, and releases.
• Perform verification, debugging, and bring-up on target hardware.
• Support project tracking and Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications:

• 3–5+ years designing FPGA products using VHDL.
• Experience with Xilinx FPGAs and the Vivado toolchain.
• Proficiency with revision control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar project-tracking processes.
• Available to work onsite in Camden, NJ; 12+ month contract; W2 candidates only.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with FPGA verification methodologies and lab bring-up.
• Knowledge of common embedded interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, DDR, SPI, I2C).
