FPGA Engineer

Role Summary

Contractor role to design and implement FPGA-based systems using VHDL on Xilinx devices. This is a 12+ month W-2 contract based in Camden, NJ.

Work with engineering teams to develop, verify, and deliver FPGA firmware, perform hardware bring-up, and support project tracking under Earned Value Management (EVM).

Experience Level

Mid-level — 3–5+ years of professional FPGA design experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Design and implement FPGA logic using VHDL.
• Synthesize and implement designs with Xilinx Vivado.
• Integrate IP cores and interfaces; support board bring-up and hardware debug.
• Create and run verification tests and testbenches; perform functional and timing verification.
• Maintain source control and manage design revisions.
• Produce technical documentation and participate in design reviews.
• Support Earned Value Management reporting and project tracking as required.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of FPGA product design experience using VHDL.
• Hands-on experience with Xilinx FPGAs and the Vivado toolchain.
• Experience with revision control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) processes.
• Available for a 12+ month W-2 contract and able to work onsite in Camden, NJ.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with other HDLs, scripting for build/verification, or embedded systems integration.
