Role Summary

The FPGA Engineer will design, implement, and deploy high-performance FPGA-based solutions to support ultra-low-latency trading systems. The role partners with Quantitative Researchers and Strategy Developers to convert trading requirements into hardware architectures and production deployments.

Work spans FPGA architecture, HDL design, simulation, board-level integration, testing, and iterative performance optimization in a production trading environment.

Experience Level

Senior level β€” requires 8+ years of experience in FPGA or ASIC architecture, design, and development.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing and delivering FPGA solutions across the stack and collaborating with trading teams to improve performance.

  • Collaborate with Quantitative Researchers and Strategy Developers to translate trading challenges into hardware requirements.
  • Architect and design FPGA solutions, including hardware selection and key functional blocks.
  • Implement HDL designs (board-to-API), simulate and verify logic, and integrate with system firmware and software.
  • Deploy designs to production environments and maintain/iterate on performance improvements.
  • Work with high-speed interfaces and ensure reliable, low-latency data paths.
  • Perform testing, debugging, and optimization at the board and system level.

Requirements

Key must-have skills and preferred qualifications.

  • Must-have: 8+ years of FPGA or ASIC architecture, design, and development using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience with high-speed interfaces such as Ethernet and PCIe.
  • Preferred / Nice-to-have: Familiarity with high-level software languages such as C#, C, or Java.
