Entry-level (early career). Guidance: approximately 2+ years of electrical engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design and verification of FPGA-based features and collaboration with hardware and firmware engineers:
- Design and implement digital logic on FPGAs (Xilinx preferred).
- Write and maintain HDL (VHDL/Verilog) and/or embedded C as required for FPGA interfaces.
- Analyze and interpret circuit schematics and hardware to diagnose issues and guide design decisions.
- Integrate FPGA designs with microcontrollers and firmware; support system bring-up and lab debugging.
- Create testbenches, perform simulation and hardware verification, and document results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve hardware/firmware integration issues.
- Learn new tools and workflows quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.
-
Must-have: 2 or more years of electrical engineering experience.
-
Must-have: Hands-on FPGA experience (Xilinx experience preferred). Internship/co-op FPGA experience acceptable; real-world project experience preferred.
-
Must-have: Ability to read and understand circuit schematics and hardware behavior.
-
Must-have: Experience with VHDL or Verilog and/or embedded C for interfacing with FPGA logic.
-
Must-have: Willingness to learn and adapt in a rapid-paced environment.
-
Nice-to-have: Microcontroller development experience and familiarity with Xilinx toolchains and debugging hardware.
