Role Summary

Implement and validate FPGA logic and support board-level debugging within an engineering team. The role requires bridging hardware and firmware efforts to deliver embedded system features and ensure correct operation of FPGA-based designs.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement, and verify FPGA logic using VHDL or Verilog.
  • Perform hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, and verification on target systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware and firmware engineers to integrate FPGA and microcontroller code.
  • Interpret circuit schematics and PCB layouts to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Produce and maintain design documentation and participate in design reviews.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering or related roles.
  • Hands-on FPGA experience; Xilinx experience preferred; internship or co-op experience may be considered.
  • Practical firmware and hardware knowledge β€” able to read circuits and troubleshoot boards.
  • Experience with C, VHDL, or Verilog.
  • Microcontroller experience is helpful.
  • Willingness to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Education Requirements

Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Other engineering degrees may be considered based on experience. The posting also specifies approximately 2+ years of relevant experience.
