FPGA Engineer
Role Summary
Design, implement, verify, and integrate FPGA-based RF and software-defined radio (SDR) capabilities for government programs. Work hands-on with FPGA toolchains, RF hardware, and embedded processing in a multidisciplinary engineering team focused on research and development.

Responsibilities
The role is focused on hands-on FPGA development, verification, and system integration for RF/SDR applications.
- Perform end-to-end FPGA design, implementation, and testing.
- Write and maintain RTL (VHDL or Verilog) for digital logic and interfaces.
- Create and run simulations and verification using tools such as ModelSim or Questa.
- Debug at RTL and system levels and integrate FPGA designs with RF hardware.
- Develop and implement software-defined radio (SDR) systems and DSP processing chains.
- Work with embedded systems and real-time processing on processor+FPGA platforms.
- Collaborate with engineers on system-level integration and troubleshooting.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, clearance ability, and experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret SCI eligibility.
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience, including SDR development.
- Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog and FPGA toolchains (e.g., Xilinx Vivado or Intel/Altera).
- Experience with simulation/verification tools (ModelSim, Questa) and version control (Git).
- Proficiency in C and C++; experience with MATLAB for algorithm development.
- Experience with Linux environments (e.g., RedHat, Rocky Linux) and embedded hardware systems.
- Hands-on experience with RF signal processing and integrating FPGAs with RF systems.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with DSP algorithms and digital RF sampling, modulation, error correction, or compression.
- Experience developing solutions that leverage both embedded processors and FPGA fabric on Xilinx SoC/RFSoC devices.
- Background in C5ISR, EW, SIGINT, or other communications/intelligence systems.
Education Requirements
