FPGA Digital Design Engineer (m/f/d)

Role Summary

Work on FPGA prototyping and digital design to support System-on-Chip (SoC) development. The role covers RTL design, synthesis and timing, verification and HW/SW co-validation on FPGA platforms.

Collaborate with firmware, software and toolchain teams to debug system-level functionality, document FPGA platforms for other SoC functions, and perform work that may be subject to security certification requirements.

Responsibilities

Key day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Develop digital designs for FPGA prototyping of SoC functions (RTL design).
• Define timing constraints and run synthesis flows for FPGA targets.
• Verify FPGA designs and perform HW/SW co-validation on FPGA platforms.
• Debug hardware/software integration issues on FPGA platforms.
• Collaborate with firmware, software and toolchain stakeholders across teams.
• Document FPGA platforms and usage for other SoC functions.

Requirements

Qualifications and skills expected from candidates.

• Must-have: Basic programming skills (e.g., C, Assembly).
• Must-have: Basic RTL design knowledge; Verilog/SystemVerilog preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and logical analysis skills.
• Team-player mindset and willingness to work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work reliably on tasks that may be in scope of security certifications.
• Nice-to-have: FPGA hands-on experience; basic circuit and PCB design know-how.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with computer architecture, microcontrollers and bus protocols.

Education Requirements

University degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
