FPGA Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Entry-level verification role supporting FPGA design verification efforts within a digital IP group focused on next-generation FPGA products. Work emphasizes verification of high-speed transceiver and Ethernet protocol functionality.

The role contributes to verification activities, debugging, and methodology improvements; you will collaborate with verification engineers and present findings to stakeholders.

Experience Level

Entry-level / early career. Targeted at recent graduates or engineers beginning their verification career.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on verification support and documentation.

  • Support FPGA verification projects and new verification methodology initiatives.
  • Develop and implement verification and debugging solutions for high-speed transceivers and Ethernet protocols.
  • Document technical specifications and maintain project records.
  • Collaborate with verification team members to improve workflows and methodologies.
  • Prepare and present progress updates and verification results to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and collaborative abilities.

  • Familiarity with HDL languages: VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Experience or knowledge of scripting (Tcl, Perl, or Python).
  • Exposure to FPGA tool flows (Quartus or Vivado) is advantageous.
  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new verification techniques.
  • Teamwork and clear verbal/written communication skills for presenting technical results.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering with a specialization in VLSI (as stated). No alternative degree or "equivalent experience" language provided in the posting.
