FPGA Design Engineer — Verilog, SystemVerilog & C#

Role Summary

Onsite FPGA engineering role focused on development and integration of FPGA logic for Electronic Safe and Arm Devices. The position centers on Verilog/SystemVerilog design, hardware–firmware analysis, and embedded software integration within a hardware engineering team in Cincinnati, OH.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting requests at least 6 years of relevant hardware engineering experience; the role expects independent ownership of FPGA design and hardware/firmware troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include design, verification, and integration of FPGA and firmware components:

  • Develop FPGA logic using Verilog/SystemVerilog and create/execute verification tests.
  • Perform hardware–firmware analysis, debugging, and root-cause investigations.
  • Integrate and validate embedded software (C) with FPGA hardware; support system bring-up and testing.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and systems engineers to meet product requirements and schedules.
  • Document designs, participate in design reviews, and produce technical reports.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and conditions:

  • 6+ years of relevant hardware engineering experience working on FPGA or digital design.
  • Proven experience with Verilog and FPGA design flows.
  • Experience with embedded C programming and hardware–firmware interfacing.
  • Strong debugging and hardware verification skills; ability to perform hardware/firmware analysis independently.
  • US citizenship required for this onsite role in Cincinnati, OH.
  • Relocation assistance is offered.

Nice to have:

  • SystemVerilog, UVM, or formal verification experience.
  • Experience with C# or toolchain/test automation.
  • Domain experience with safety- or security-sensitive hardware (e.g., electronic safe/arm devices).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required; the posting specifies at least 6 years of relevant hardware engineering experience. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
