Mid-level. The role expects at least 3 years of FPGA and embedded hardware development experience.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, verify, and support FPGA-based subsystems from prototype through production.
- Design, implement, simulate, and debug FPGA logic using Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
- Develop digital architectures for data acquisition, signal processing, communication interfaces, and embedded control.
- Integrate vendor and third-party IP; perform timing closure, resource utilization, and power optimization.
- Support FPGA bring-up, hardware debugging, and system integration using lab instrumentation.
- Create simulation environments and verification methodologies; perform functional verification and root-cause analysis.
- Develop automated test procedures, validation plans, and supporting documentation.
- Produce technical documentation including requirements, specifications, and design reports; participate in design reviews and risk assessments.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and constraints for the role. Nice-to-have items are listed separately.
- Proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
- Experience with FPGA platforms and toolchains (AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera, Lattice, or Microchip).
- Experience with FPGA simulation, verification, hardware debugging, and lab bring-up.
- Solid understanding of digital electronics, high-speed interfaces, embedded systems, and product development lifecycle.
- Experience supporting products from prototype through production.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Nice to have:
- Experience with DDR memory, PCIe, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, DSP, or real-time signal processing.
