Job Title

FPGA Associate (Fall 2026)

Role Summary

12-week salaried associate role on the FPGA hardware team developing FPGA RTL, integration, and test for satellite communications systems. Work directly with electrical and software engineers to bring designs from RTL to hardware verification and system integration.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” targeted to recent graduates. Associate positions typically last twelve weeks and are intended for candidates who have completed a four-year degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include RTL development, hardware integration, and verification for FPGA-based systems.

  • Develop and maintain RTL for FPGA-targeted applications using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Use multiple FPGA toolchains and target devices for synthesis and implementation.
  • Interface FPGAs with peripherals including high-speed data converters, memories, and microcontrollers.
  • Write software and testbenches to exercise and validate RTL in hardware.
  • Collaborate with electrical and software engineers on integration, bring-up, and debugging.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Experience designing, implementing, and testing high-throughput systems on FPGAs.
  • Proficiency with Verilog / SystemVerilog for synthesis.
  • Hands-on hardware development experience and comfort working in a fast-paced lab environment.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or refugee/asylee status required.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with UVM and advanced SystemVerilog verification.
  • Experience with Xilinx devices, Vivado, and TCL scripting.
  • Familiarity with power, thermal, and area trade-offs at the system level.
  • Experience with high-speed data converters (ADCs/DACs, JESD204B), circuit-level debugging, or DSP/communication implementations (e.g., LDPC).
  • Experience with space-based or modern RF/communication systems.

Education Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. The position is intended for candidates who have graduated from a four-year university; equivalent experience is acceptable where stated.
