Foundry Site Quality Program Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Foundry Quality, Reliability, and Labs (FQRL) organization to own site quality audits, measure and report fabrication quality, and lead factory-wide quality improvement initiatives. The role focuses on audit program management, cross-functional coordination, and driving corrective actions that reduce repeat quality issues and protect downstream customers.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include program management of internal quality audits, driving improvement projects, and coordinating quality activities across factory and foundry teams.

• Manage and coach the internal site audit team, set audit expectations and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain the internal audit schedule; perform audits and identify nonconformances and process gaps.
• Measure and report fab quality metrics; lead Factory Quality Meetings to resolve repeat issues and implement hard fixes.
• Support preparation and readiness for external audits.
• Engage with Foundry APTM Quality and Reliability counterparts to share best-known methods and define standards.
• Help lead Quality System Certifications for new technologies (e.g., excursion protection, FMEA, queue-time loop management).
• Influence and collaborate with factory staff, area managers, group leads, and process engineers to identify quality risks and implement solutions.
• Lead or support data-driven quality improvement programs across the factory.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

• At least 2 years' experience using quality management tools such as internal audits, 8D, FMEA, SPC, change control, and quality control standards.
• Demonstrated program-management ability, attention to detail, and organizational influence to drive cross-functional resolution.
• Strong communication skills: able to distill complex information and communicate effectively up and down the organization.
• Proven ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders to achieve alignment and timely corrective actions.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with package assembly, advanced packaging processes, or semiconductor fab operations.
• Model-based problem solving and strong data analysis/extrapolation skills to guide factory-wide quality programs.

Education Requirements

Posting requires one of the following: Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience, Master's degree with 2+ years of experience, or a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics.
