Job Title

Foundry Program Manager, Sr Staff

Role Summary

Lead Synopsys' foundry enablement programs in Taiwan, coordinating internal R&D, IP teams, and foundry partners to ensure IP readiness on advanced process nodes. Drive schedules, technical issue resolution, test-chip activity, and executive reporting to meet tapeout and product deadlines.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 10–15+ years of semiconductor industry experience working at the intersection of process technology, foundry enablement, and IP development.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for the role include coordinating cross-functional work and ensuring timely IP enablement on new process technologies.

  • Act as primary interface with foundry partners in Taiwan for multi-node IP enablement programs.
  • Coordinate schedules, deliverables, and technical requirements across Sales, Marketing, FAE, CAE, R&D, and foundry engineering.
  • Track and drive resolution of issues related to PDK updates, design kit releases, IP characterization, and test-chip bring-up.
  • Identify program risks early, escalate appropriately, and coordinate mitigation plans with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate test-chip design, tapeout schedules, and silicon characterization to validate IP on new process technologies.
  • Maintain program dashboards, status reports, and executive briefings that translate technical progress into business outcomes.
  • Align foundry adoption timelines with internal IP development roadmaps to ensure availability for customer SoC designs.

Requirements

Essential skills and experience; concise list of must-haves and one noted nice-to-have.

  • Deep working knowledge of IC manufacturing, process technology nodes, design enablement flows, and sign-off processes.
  • Direct experience coordinating with foundries (PDK development, IP design, CAD tool enablement, or quality programs).
  • Familiarity with analog and digital SoC design flows, physical design, characterization, and silicon validation methodologies.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin for technical and business communication.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical program status to stakeholders from engineering teams to executive leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office for program tracking and reporting.
  • Strong program management skills: manage multiple concurrent process-node programs and escalate before slips become crises.
  • (Nice-to-have) Working knowledge of Copilot and similar AI-assisted tools.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical field, or equivalent practical experience in the semiconductor industry.
