Foundry Program Manager, Sr Staff
Role Summary
Lead Synopsys' foundry enablement programs in Taiwan, coordinating internal R&D, IP teams, and foundry partners to ensure IP readiness on advanced process nodes. Drive schedules, technical issue resolution, test-chip activity, and executive reporting to meet tapeout and product deadlines.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 10β15+ years of semiconductor industry experience working at the intersection of process technology, foundry enablement, and IP development.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for the role include coordinating cross-functional work and ensuring timely IP enablement on new process technologies.
- Act as primary interface with foundry partners in Taiwan for multi-node IP enablement programs.
- Coordinate schedules, deliverables, and technical requirements across Sales, Marketing, FAE, CAE, R&D, and foundry engineering.
- Track and drive resolution of issues related to PDK updates, design kit releases, IP characterization, and test-chip bring-up.
- Identify program risks early, escalate appropriately, and coordinate mitigation plans with stakeholders.
- Coordinate test-chip design, tapeout schedules, and silicon characterization to validate IP on new process technologies.
- Maintain program dashboards, status reports, and executive briefings that translate technical progress into business outcomes.
- Align foundry adoption timelines with internal IP development roadmaps to ensure availability for customer SoC designs.
Requirements
Essential skills and experience; concise list of must-haves and one noted nice-to-have.
- Deep working knowledge of IC manufacturing, process technology nodes, design enablement flows, and sign-off processes.
- Direct experience coordinating with foundries (PDK development, IP design, CAD tool enablement, or quality programs).
- Familiarity with analog and digital SoC design flows, physical design, characterization, and silicon validation methodologies.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin for technical and business communication.
- Proven ability to communicate technical program status to stakeholders from engineering teams to executive leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for program tracking and reporting.
- Strong program management skills: manage multiple concurrent process-node programs and escalate before slips become crises.
- (Nice-to-have) Working knowledge of Copilot and similar AI-assisted tools.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical field, or equivalent practical experience in the semiconductor industry.
