Foundry Business Manager
Normal ComputingJob Title
Foundry Business Manager
Role Summary
Lead strategic foundry engagements and manage end-to-end execution of advanced-node ASIC programs, serving as the primary liaison between Normal's engineering teams and foundry partners to deliver tapeout by Q4 2027.
Coordinate commercial, technical, and operational activities including contract alignment, PDK/IP integration, milestone tracking, quality assurance, and post-silicon bring-up.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 8+ years in the semiconductor industry with 3β4+ years in foundry relationship management, ASIC program management, or physical design implementation.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Manage commercial relationships with foundries and ecosystem partners; lead NDAs, MSAs, and access agreements.
- Serve as the single point of contact with foundry customer engineering and business teams; lead technical and business reviews.
- Plan capacity and evaluate MPW versus full-mask schedules to balance cost, lead time, and risk.
- Own the tapeout schedule from RTL freeze through synthesis, P&R, DRC/LVS sign-off, and GDSII submission.
- Align internal design teams (RTL, architecture, DV, physical design) with external foundry support to resolve technical blockers.
- Develop and execute risk mitigation and contingency plans to protect schedule and delivery milestones.
- Define silicon qualification and reliability testing roadmaps (ESD, latch-up, yield criteria) aligned with foundry guidance.
- Monitor wafer acceptance testing, process monitor data, yield metrics, and defect densities during fabrication.
- Coordinate packaging and OSAT activities for substrate development, assembly, and post-silicon bring-up readiness.
Requirements
Key requirements - must-haves first, then preferred qualifications.
- Must: 8+ years in the semiconductor industry with 3β4+ years in foundry relationship management, ASIC technical program management, or physical design implementation.
- Must: Proven experience delivering tapeouts at advanced nodes (sub-8nm) and strong practical knowledge of PDKs, design rules, and EDA sign-off flows (DRC/LVS/STA).
- Must: Experience integrating third-party IP (PCIe, CXL, LPDDR, SerDes) and managing IP licensing matters.
- Must: Strong negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills; fluency in English and Korean required.
- Preferred: Direct experience with Samsung Foundry ecosystems and tapeout flows.
