Foundation IP Principal Memory Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Central Engineering Group to develop foundation IP for AI products, including memory compilers, logic cells and custom macros on advanced process nodes. The role focuses on transistor-level and circuit design, simulation, characterization and layout integration for memory and circuit blocks.
Experience Level
Senior — requires approximately 8 years of related experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, simulation, verification and physical integration of memory and circuit blocks:
- Analyze memory architectures and trade-offs.
- Design memory or circuit blocks at gate and transistor level.
- Perform transistor-level and post-layout simulations and verification.
- Extract layouts, floorplan and integrate physical design components.
- Integrate and automate characterization flows to extract timing and power data.
- Specify and verify behavioral and physical memory models.
- Document design specifications and timing diagrams; support silicon test planning and correlate silicon to simulation data.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and demonstrated experience:
- Proven expertise developing memory compilers and custom macros.
- Deep understanding of transistor-level circuit behavior and device physics.
- Strong knowledge of memory bitcell R/W margins and assist techniques.
- Experience with signal integrity, EM/IR and reliability analysis.
- Familiarity with memory behavioral/physical models, DFT schemes and chip-level integration.
- Proficient with transistor-level simulators and scripting for automation.
- Effective communication, leadership skills, self-motivation and ability to multi-task.
Education Requirements
Requires a BS (Bachelor of Science) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and approximately 8 years of related experience.
