Foundation IP Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Central Engineering Group to develop foundation IP for AI products, including memory compilers, logic cells and custom macros on advanced process nodes. The role focuses on transistor- and gate-level circuit design, layout integration, characterization and verification of memory and circuit blocks.
This position contributes to architecture trade-off analysis, transistor-level simulation, post-layout verification, automation of characterization flows, and silicon correlation.
Experience Level

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design, verification, and integration of memory and circuit IP across design and physical implementation phases.
- Analyze memory architectures and evaluate trade-offs
- Design memory or circuit blocks at gate or transistor level
- Perform transistor-level simulation and circuit analysis
- Generate layouts, run post-layout extraction and simulations
- Floorplan and integrate physical implementation of design components
- Develop and integrate characterization flows to extract timing and power
- Automate simulations, characterization and verification with scripting
- Specify and verify behavioral and physical memory models
- Document design specifications, behavioral descriptions and timing diagrams
- Define silicon test plans and correlate silicon measurements to simulation
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience required for the role.
- Proven experience developing memory compilers and custom macros
- Deep understanding of transistor-level circuit behavior and device physics
- Expertise in memory bitcell read/write margins and assist techniques
- Experience with signal integrity, EM/IR and reliability analysis
- Familiarity with memory behavioral and physical modeling
- Knowledge of DFT schemes and chip-level integration
- Proficient with transistor-level simulators and automation scripting

Education Requirements
Requires a BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering and approximately 8 years of related experience.
