Foundation IP Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Central Engineering Group to develop foundation IP for AI products, including memory compilers, logic cells and custom macros on advanced process nodes. Work on transistor- and gate-level design, verification, characterization, and layout integration for memory and circuit blocks.

Responsibilities

Primary engineering responsibilities include design, verification, and integration of memory and circuit IP:

• Analyze memory architectures and evaluate trade-offs.
• Design memory and circuit blocks at gate/transistor level.
• Run transistor-level simulations and analyze circuit behavior.
• Perform layout extraction and post-layout simulation/verification.
• Floorplan and integrate layout for design components.
• Develop and integrate characterization flow to extract timing and power.
• Automate characterization, simulation, and verification tasks with scripts.
• Specify and verify behavioral and physical memory models.
• Document design specifications, behavioral descriptions, and timing diagrams.
• Help define silicon test plans and correlate silicon data to simulations.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes:

• Expertise in development of memory compilers and custom macros.
• Deep understanding of transistor-level circuit behavior and device physics.
• Strong knowledge of memory bitcell read/write margins and assist techniques.
• Experience with signal integrity, EM/IR analysis, and reliability considerations.
• Familiarity with memory behavioral and physical modeling.
• Experience with DFT schemes and chip-level integration.
• Proficiency with simulators and automation scripting for characterization and verification.
• Good communication and collaboration skills; able to lead technical work and multitask.

Education Requirements
