Formal Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Intel Networking verification team to verify microarchitecture and RTL for Ethernet IP using industry-standard formal verification tools and techniques. The role focuses on defining formal scope, developing strategies and abstraction models, and driving convergence to deliver correct, high-quality designs on schedule.

This position is based in Israel and requires an on-site presence.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically requires 3+ years of formal verification experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Define formal verification scope from architecture and RTL descriptions.
• Select and deploy formal strategies (model checking, equivalence checking) to prove correctness.
• Create abstraction models and carve boundaries to improve convergence on complex designs.
• Develop comprehensive formal verification plans and track progress to schedule.
• Apply abstraction techniques and advanced formal methodologies to resolve convergence issues.
• Analyze and evaluate new methodologies and tools; corroborate and report results.
• Collaborate with design teams and vendors to resolve hard design and tool problems.

Requirements

Required and preferred technical skills.

• Must-have: 3+ years of formal verification experience; practical use of formal verification tools and techniques (model checking, equivalence checking) on RTL/microarchitecture.
• Strong understanding of RTL design and microarchitectural intent to translate into formal scopes and properties.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Jasper tools and SVA/Jasper Apps (connectivity, coverage); scripting skills in Perl or Python; experience with GHCP and AI-assisted tools.
• Ability to create abstraction models and isolate verification boundaries for convergence.
• Experience communicating results and articulating ROI of formal approaches.
