Firmware Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Work on the wireless SoC team to develop and execute firmware validation for system-on-chip wireless applications. The role focuses on verifying firmware quality for manufacturability and the end-user experience by collaborating with software, hardware, and verification teams.

This position centers on test development, troubleshooting, and cross-functional integration to deliver reliable wireless silicon.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and execute firmware test cases and validation plans for wireless SoCs.
• Design and automate test benches and test harnesses for regression and characterization.
• Perform bring-up and debug of firmware/hardware interactions; reproduce and isolate failures.
• Collaborate with software, RTL, verification, test, and systems teams to track and resolve issues.
• Collect, analyze, and report validation results and metrics for manufacturability and performance.
• Document test procedures, results, and corrective actions.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications and technical skills:

• Experience validating firmware on embedded SoC platforms and executing system-level test plans.
• Experience with test automation and scripting (for example Python or shell).
• Hands-on debugging of firmware/hardware interactions using tools such as JTAG, UART, and logic analyzers.
• Familiarity working with cross-functional engineering teams to isolate and resolve issues.
• Ability to design reproducible test cases and produce clear validation reports.
• Nice-to-have: experience with wireless protocols (RF/PHY/MAC), low-power optimization, or SoC bring-up.
