Role Summary

Join the NIC Firmware Core team to develop low-level firmware for next-generation network adapters. The role covers firmware design, micro-architecture, software interfaces and verification to deliver features used in cloud and high-performance computing environments.

Experience Level

Entry-level; 0–3 years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver and support low-level firmware for networking adapter products throughout development and verification.

  • Design, develop, test, debug and optimize low-level firmware layers up to package release.
  • Integrate and debug firmware within verification environments and test frameworks.
  • Collaborate with firmware, software and architecture teams to analyze and resolve issues in legacy and new firmware flows.
  • Improve team processes by designing and implementing new methodologies and automation.
  • Implement features targeting cloud providers and HPC networking requirements.

Requirements

Core skills and experience required; optional items listed as nice-to-have.

  • Must-have: Programming proficiency in C/C++ and strong low-level debugging skills.
  • Must-have: 0–3 years of professional engineering experience.
  • Must-have: Ability to work effectively in a team and take responsibility for deliverables.
  • Nice-to-have: Background in networking.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Linux and scripting languages.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science (as stated in the posting).
